Day trip
French, English
You are a rider and you want to explore in an authentic and original way part of the Gassendi Museum's collection of Mountain Art, at the pace of horses, in the Bès valley, one of the wildest valleys in France. You will discover unusual works integrated into the environment, carrying history, messages from the land and/or their authors, who are passionate about nature, traces that have become invisible from man or animals.
We invite you to move from nature in art to art in nature by also telling you about the history and geology of the valley in these partly forgotten places that we invite you to reconquer with new eyes, in the world's first UNESCO Geopark. We will meet you at 9 am, in the park where the horses are, near Barles. We suggest that you pick them up and prepare them with us if you are interested. We will leave around 10am in the direction of the Refuge d'art du vieil Esclangon, work of Andy Goldsworthy where we will be able to eat, with local and organic products that often come from our production. On our way, we will come across several works of art and geological phenomena that we will take the time to explain to you. If you have chosen the day trip, it will unfortunately be time to take the way back. Otherwise, we will head to the Refuge d'art de l'Escuichière where other works and panoramas are offered to us. We will eat and sleep there before heading back to our starting point. Daily rate: 100 euros including meals. Price over 2 days: 250 euros including meals. Stay on request, all year round (recommended spring and autumn periods).
